PEI Resmed Challenge – Maintaining customer services during the COVID crisis

PEI employs more than 100 staff throughout Ireland and operates across a diverse range of medical sectors including Orthopaedics, Orthodontics, Sleep, Pain Management, Vascular and Operating Room consumables. PEI required a solution to assist the sales team in the replenishment of stock items that they manage within their own day to day operations. The key criteria was to provide a mechanism for sales reps to easily generate replenishment orders while in the field and for these orders to synchronise back to HQ for download by internal departments. The main objective for the solution was to develop a standardised request solution instead of the existing multiple methods of requests via mail, phone, text etc.

  • Having gone to the market previously and failed to find a product that would fit the requirements, PEI knew that it would still be a challenge to find a platform with the necessary features and flexibility to meet their needs.
  • PEI were looking for a vendor with extensive experience in the mobile application development space that could bring innovation to the table.
  • Speed of development and rapid change were key requirements in order to maintain competitive advantage.

Solution

PEI implemented the Team Konnect rapid application development platform to develop a mobile application for their Surgikit sales team. A key driver in the selection of this platform was not only the speed of development, but the ability to get a working prototype into their frontline users hands within a matter of weeks. This also enabled rapid feedback and suggestions from their frontline users as to how the App could be enhanced and improved to make the user experience even better which ultimately helped to drive higher users adoption.

Results

The final solution enabled PEI to assist their customers every day during the lockdown and the use of the Team Konnect App was a a key driver in their ability to provide the services their customers required. The mobile application has since been developed
